Can you advise me on how to use my sunscreen properly?
Absolutely Rawan!
Sunscreen works best when you use the right product, the right amount, and reapply it regularly.
1- Choose broad-spectrum sunscreen: Look for broad-spectrum protection with SPF 30 or higher to help protect your skin from both UVA and UVB radiation.
2-Use the right amount: For the face and neck, a commonly used practical method is the two-finger rule: apply enough sunscreen to cover the length of your index and middle fingers. Spread it evenly over all exposed areas.
3-Apply before sun exposure: Ideally, apply sunscreen about 15 minutes before going outdoors to give it time to form an effective protective layer.
4-Reapply regularly: Reapply at least every 2 hours, and more frequently after swimming, sweating, or towel-drying, even when using a water-resistant product.
5-Don’t forget cloudy days: UV radiation can still reach your skin when it’s cloudy. Sunscreen should be combined with other protective measures such as seeking shade, wearing protective clothing, and using a hat.
💡 Remember: Sunscreen isn’t just about choosing a high SPF. It’s about using enough, applying it correctly, and reapplying consistently.
