I smoke around 10 cigarettes a day. Is that enough to affect my health as a man?
Hi Khalil, thank you for your question.
This question is freqently asked by people and the answer to it is Yes.
Even smoking a relatively small number of cigarettes every day can affect men’s health. Smoking exposes the body to chemicals that damage blood vessels, reduce blood flow, and increase inflammation.
Over time, this can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and may contribute to erectile dysfunction, since healthy erections depend on good blood circulation. Smoking can also affect sperm quality and fertility and increases the risk of several cancers and other chronic diseases.
The good news is that quitting can make a real difference. Your body begins to recover after you stop smoking, with improvements in circulation and lung function occurring over time, while the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other smoking-related conditions gradually decreases.
So, whether you smoke 10 cigarettes a day or more, there is no “safe” level of smoking, but it is never too late to quit and start protecting your health.
