Can Heat Bags Really Help with Period Cramps?

Good morning Dear,
Yes. Heat therapy can help reduce the pain and discomfort of menstrual cramps. During menstruation, the uterus contracts partly due to substances called prostaglandins, which can contribute to pain and inflammation. Applying a warm heat bag to the lower abdomen can relax the uterine and surrounding muscles, increase local blood flow, and reduce the sensation of pain.
Research suggests that local heat therapy may provide meaningful relief from primary menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) and can be a useful non-drug option, particularly for people who prefer to avoid or limit pain medications.

How to use it safely?
Apply a comfortably warm, not very hot, heat bag to the lower abdomen for about 15–20 minutes at a time, and avoid placing it directly against bare skin for prolonged periods to prevent burns.
If cramps are unusually severe, suddenly worsen, interfere significantly with daily activities, or are accompanied by heavy bleeding or other concerning symptoms, medical evaluation is recommended.
